Our biggest haters are usually ourselves.
We are often getting in our own way. Like when we challenge the validity of positive things happening in our lives.
When we question the good and expect the bad, we are using our powers for evil. We change our universe but for the worst. We let fear, worry, & doubt led the way throughout our lives.
So how do you stop self-sabotaging?
That requires taking a good, hard, & long look at yourself. You must stop, take the time, & do the work. The answer to the question of self-sabotage is self-worth.
When you understand your worth, you begin to see yourself for who you are. You become aware of your triumphs, & tribulations. You know what you must practice to achieve your goals & dreams.
But how do we understand our worth?
Self-worth is inherent. You are birthed into it. You are worthy because you exist. This is a simple fact. No person on this planet is worth more because of status or fame. We all deserve to feel worthy. This is not an easy concept to talk about because we are raised up with the idea that we have to earn our worth.
The process of discovering your self-worth begins with silencing your inner critic. There are many techniques that help you tame your inner voice & start thinking in alignment with your worth.
Shhhhhh, how to quiet your inner critic:
- Find your voice. What or who does it sound like?
- Listen to your voice. What is it saying about you?
- Name your critic. Give that voice in your head a name.
- Record your thoughts. Write it out in a journal.
- Alter your voice. Change the way your critic speaks to you.
- Practice. You won’t be able to quiet your inner critic overnight, keep up the good work.
How can you alter your inner voice?
There are a few ways that you can make substantial change to the voice of your inner critic. One way is to change the way that your voice sounds. give it a silly voice like its been sucking on a helium balloon. It is much harder to hear your voice criticize when it sounds like a chipmunk. Remember this take practice.
Another way is to picture your inner critic & make it even sillier. What is it that you find most entertaining? Is your voice in a clown outfit? Is it a small child? Or maybe it’s a talking frog! Make it so it is hard for you to take that voice seriously.
Finding your self-worth = allowing your big dreams to come true.
So, what does quieting your inner voice & finding your self-worth have to do with your dreams coming true? Good question! 😊
When we quiet our self-criticism & start to try ourselves with self-worth, we allow ourselves not only to dream a little bigger, but to allow ourselves to achieve our goals, dreams, and aspirations. When we discover that we are worth the things that we want for ourselves, we are freed to do just that – go after the big dreams.
