Spring is springing in just a few days. This is a good time to start your spring cleaning. But as you are cleaning the cobwebs from your house & opening windows to let fresh air in, think about how you can do some Self-Care Spring Cleaning.
By focusing on yourself, and revealing who you truly are inside, you have the opportunity to live in authenticity with your true self. Being yourself is not easy. Focusing on your needs above others may be difficult for you, especially when you have focused on others your entire life. But the importance of self-care is evident when you don’t get the self-care you need. When your body speaks, you need to listen. Self-care leads you down the road to better health mentally, physically, and spiritually.
Focus on becoming aware
When you focus on becoming aware, you start to see the things in your life that may not be how you thought they were. Becoming aware of your issues and shortcomings, is the first step to change your perspective on those very things.
Changing your perspective
Once you’ve become aware of an issue, it is time to review your perspective on the issue. By looking at the same issue in a different way, you often find yourself questioning your original perspective. When you start to challenge your perspective on a subject, that is when real change starts to take place.
Clean up your language
Words have power. By focusing on what you say and how you say it, you can reclaim your power over your words and life. Changing your language is important step to changing your perspective. By using positive phrases, affirmations, and mantras you can focus on what you are looking to accomplish, rather than what you believe that you failed to do.
Take back control of your inner voice
Your inner voice is the loudest voice that you hear. When it’s negative and putting you down, it’s time to make a change. Retraining your inner voice takes time, patience, and grace. But once you’ve learned to retrain that voice, you can turn your inner voice into a cheerleader.
Developing a growth mindset
A growth mindset is the idea that you can make fundamental changes in your life. You believe that you have control over your life and happiness. The opposite of a growth mindset is a fixed mindset where you believe that you either have it or don’t. Having a growth mindset also takes a lot of practice. But just like with everything else, you will get better with practice.
