Thankfulness & Onward

Thankfulness & Onward

Thanksgiving is approaching & every November the thankfulness starts creeping out. The idea is beautiful – thinking about everything that you are thankful for a whole day, week, or even the month – BUT why stop there?

The magic of Christmas & presents & candy canes takes over even before Thanksgiving comes & then it’s gone. What if we stayed thankful all year? How would that change the world around us?

When we feel grateful for something our perspective is from a positive view point. If we were to shift our perspective of the things we do and start looking for the positive, we find gratefulness and happiness.

Now imagine, with me, a world were people are looking for things they are or can be thankful for…

People would try to be happy. People would look to bring more positivity into their lives. People would see others being grateful for what they have & not envious of what they don’t have.

Happiness spreads.

When happiness is on everyone’s mind & they are actively seeking happiness, something happens to those they meet.

Do a little social experiment for yourself. Smile at 5 strangers & see how your smile effects them.

Now think about how you feel when you see a friendly happy face? Do you think, “wow that’s a beautiful expression of happiness & it makes me happy to think about being happy?” Maybe your not thinking those exact words but I bet that your mind is on a similar progression. This is the contagious nature of happiness.

The beauty of happiness is that it leads to thankfulness & thankfulness leads to happiness. Try being thankful & full of negativity. It’s like they are so opposing of each other, it’s hard to think of them together.

So, I must think today & always – what am I thankful for? How can I expand my thankfulness? What positive things can I do to be thankful for? What are the things in my life that bring me joy?

By asking myself these questions & being thankful, I trigger the happiness snow ball effect. As it goes, it gets bigger, as it gets bigger, it grows faster & faster.

Happiness begets happiness. Thankfulness begets thankfulness. Positivity begets positive.

I hope that you have a wonderful November & happy Thanksgiving. May life bring you blessings & may you enjoy every moment!

Happy Holidays!!! From Melanie ❤️
