Life & Lemonade

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Can it really be so simple? Short answer is yes, but it’s not easy.

When life is throwing lemons at you left & right, it’s hard to do anything but curl up and hide. This is exactly how many of us feel when life gets hard. We hide. We play the victim. Even when we are a victim or we are dealing with real trauma, injury, or struggles the answer is still lemonade!

Okay! So how do we do it? How do you turn something undesirable into something wonderful?

Perspective.

I can never write enough about how our perspective has the power to change our reality.

Our brains are amazing little machines that run on electricity. The brain is not full of predetermined thoughts. It is a beautiful squishy organ that can be programmed. This is important to remember when you get stuck in a fix mindset!

So, let’s go through some simple biology. The brain is made of nerves. These nerves are the pathways to information in our bodies. The information is sent through the nerves in electrical & chemical signals. (There is more to this, but for the purpose of make lemonade, this explains enough.)

Reprogram your noggin.

Changing you perspective sometimes works like something has just clicked in place & BAM – life is different.

Most of the time changing your perspective on something takes practice, work & conscious effort. This is where mantras, positive thinking, & rewriting your story comes into play.

Repeated behavior will because habitual behavior with reputation. As neuropathways get used this behavior, it becomes the norm. The brain can rewire itself (with help & guidance from your behavior) to change your mindset.

My Lemonade Recipe

Take a deep look into your past, your limiting beliefs, & the roles you play in life right now. Now shake everything up. Shake it up really good!

Add some daily mantras as a way to add a positive voice in your head. Remember with positive thinking and mantras, practice makes perfect.

Next take a look at the story of your life so far. Break it down into the basic events that changed you. Take those pieces & rewrite your story the way that you want.

Take charge of your life!

True change only comes with a lifetime of work. Sometimes the work is light but sometimes the work is heavy & hard. But you have the power to reprogram your brain & change your beliefs.
