Reaching for the stars

There are two schools of thought about reaching for the stars. One is, if you reach for the stars, you’ll only be let down. The other is, if you keep reaching for the stars, you will stay motivated. I have a different take on the whole thing.

Don’t reach for the stars… let yourself catch one (or two).

Motivation isn’t enough, you have to let yourself have success also. Is it possible to catch a star? Well, maybe you need to redefine what that means. Sometimes the craziest ideas are the best and catching a star simply means you’ve found a way to bring that star to you.

While I’m redefining things, let’s give failure a new name. From now on you can call every failure your latest try and then keep trying. It is important to change the way that you look at failure. Stop looking at it as a bad thing, something to tear you down, and look at it as it is, a new chance to try again.

Stop setting yourself up to miss your goals, because success isn’t the end. You didn’t come this far, to only come this far. You can’t stop at the first signs of success or failure, if you want true happiness. By always waiting for success, you are missing out on a lot of things you should be celebrating.

Happiness and success go hand-in-hand, and so do happiness and failure. But the most important thing for you to do is allow yourself to catch that star.
